Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and App Service ("we"), which runs OkuSplit. By using OkuSplit you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.
The service
OkuSplit helps you write down shared expenses and see who owes whom. It is a record-keeping tool only. We do not process payments, move money or hold funds for anyone. Any payment between people happens outside OkuSplit, between them.
Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep your phone and that account safe: what is done with your account is your responsibility. You must be at least 13 years old (or the age of digital consent where you live).
The amounts you enter
You and the people in your groups enter the expenses, amounts and splits. We do not check them. You are responsible for what you enter, and for checking balances before you pay anyone. Exchange rates are given for information; they can be late or differ from the rate your bank uses.
Your content
What you put in OkuSplit stays yours. You allow us to store it, copy it (for example in backups) and show it to the people you share it with, only as needed to run the service. Everyone in a group can see and change that group’s content: choose whom you invite.
Acceptable use
Do not use OkuSplit to:
- break the law, or help anyone break it;
- harass, threaten or deceive other people, or pretend to be someone else;
- upload content that is illegal, or that you have no right to share;
- send spam, or attack, overload or disturb the service or its users;
- get into accounts or data that are not yours, or copy the service by automated means.
Ending your use
You can stop at any time and delete your account in the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. We may change or stop the service; if we stop it, we will try to tell you in advance.
The service is provided "as is"
We work to keep OkuSplit correct and available, but we provide it "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We do not promise that it will always be available, free of errors, or that data will never be lost.
Limits of our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, for disagreements or payments between users, or for wrong amounts or exchange rates. Our total liability for any claim is limited to USD 50. Some places do not allow these limits; there, they apply only as far as the law permits.
Other services
Sign-in, app stores, notifications and place photos use services from Apple, Google and Unsplash, which have their own terms. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you in the app if a change is important. If you keep using OkuSplit after a change, you accept the new terms.
